The Académie Ridaventure was created in 2019 by Claude Gagné, certified BMW Germany instructor. The aim of the Academy is to give you the necessary techniques to allow you to ride well on the trail, particularly with adventure or dual-use motorcycles.

  • 5 years as an FQMHR trail agent.
  • Almost half a million km of driving a BMW GSA.

Claude is surrounded by 1 other certified BMW Germany instructors, Marc Villeneuve. There are also 3 Acedemie Ridaventure certified instructors, Stephane Levasseur, Eric Menard and Steve Maxwell.

  • More than 20 years of experience in motocross (125cc and 250cc).
  • Over 20 Iron Butt rides completed.
  • More than 10,000km of snowmobile trails per season.

Stephane Levasseur - Instructor

  • 3 years as an Academie Ridaventure certified instructor
  • More than 15 years’ experience.
  • Taken numerous advanced on and off-road riding courses.
  • Passionate about Sport Adventure motorcycling and instruction.
  • Certified ski instructor.

Eric Ménard - Assistant Instructor

  • Journalist, motorcycle instructor and producer of the Show de Moto on RDS.
  • Eric has traveled the roads of Peru, Turkey, Guatemala, Mexico and Costa Rica, Europe and the Orient.
  • Eric participated in the 2018 BMW GS Trophy Mongolia as a journalist for the Canadian team.
  • Eric is a great communicator of his passion for and tips on Sport Adventure motorcycling.

Steve Maxwell - Assistant Instructor

  • Riding since the age of 12.
  • The past 15 years have been spent in the ADV bike realm, mostly on various BMW R1200GS bikes.
  • Served as a motor officer with among others the Toronto Police Service Winged Wheels precision motorcycle team and, also as a motor officer annual requalification trainer.
  • Taught experienced rider slow speed training and motorcycle licencing training with the OSC.
  • Competed in several BMW GS Challenge events and brings to Académie Ridaventure a wealth of new and experienced rider coaching experience on and off road.
